The Lambs’ 2017/18 FA Cup journey comes to an end
It was a true united performance by the Lambs on the pitch on Saturday as they hosted Frome Town FC in the Second Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup.
The Lambs continuously pushed and they played with the biggest heart, against the Southern Football League Premier Division side, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be for the lads this year as they lost two goals to one.
The last time the Lambs reached this stage of the competition was 62 years ago so this is a massive achievement for the reigning champions of the South West Peninsula League.
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to every one who has come to watch us in this competition, especially those of you who stood in the relentless rain on Saturday, making noise and helping to keep the dream alive, and to those of you who have sent us countless messages of support. A thank you to the local clubs and young players for supporting us as ballboys and keeping us entertained during half time.
Finally, a thank you to every one who makes this Club possible; the grounds people who devote hours to making sure the pitch is maintained, repaired and in tip-top condition for each game, the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the games are planned, arranged, catered for and staffed to run as smoothly as possible, the coaching and managerial staff who ensure the players are fit and raring to go and last, but certainly not least, the players for giving it their all.
Our run in the Emirates FA Cup may be over for this year but it’s been an incredible experience; bringing us closer together as a Club, strengthening our links with supporters and making and gaining new friends. We hope you’ll all continue to come and support us.
