CUP FINAL FOR RECORD-BREAKING LAMBS THIS SATURDAY

This weekend Tavistock AFC will play their last game of the 2017/18 season as they go head-to-head against Falmouth Town FC for the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League (SWPL) Walter C Parson Cup.
The Lambs, who are the runners up of the SWPL Premier League division this year, are keen for supporters to come and join them at the cup final game, which is to be played at Bodieve Park in Wadebridge (2.30pm kick off). A coach has been organised for players and supporters to get to and from the game.
“We’ve had fantastic support throughout this season’s campaign,” expressed Stuart Henderson, Manager of Tavistock AFC Firsts. “Our supporters, both those who have followed us for some time and also those who have recently started following us, have contributed significantly to raising the morale of the players, as well as the wider Club, this season.
“From the supportive cheers at pitch side, to the numerous messages we receive on social media, it doesn’t go unnoticed. It would be great if we could take this with us to Wadebridge on Saturday and to have as many of our supporters join us.”
The coach, which is £10 per person, will leave Langsford Park at 11.30am with a second pick-up arranged from the George Park and Ride, Roborough at 11.50am. The coach will leave Bodieve Park at 7.00pm.

On Monday (7 May) the team played their final league game of the season, hosting St Austell AFC at home, where they broke the SWPL Premier League record of most goals scored within a campaign. With a 5-1 win, the record was secured with Jack Crago’s second goal of the game and the team’s 148th goal of this season. Three further goals in the game from Liam Prynn, Teigan Rosenquest and Tallan Burns, means the new record now stands at 151 goals.
“It was nice to create history; beating the goals scored record for the ‘most goals scored’ in a Peninsula Premier League campaign is testament to the attacking free flowing football we have tried to serve up to the fans following the sexy lambs,” Stuart commented after the game.
“On average, just under four goals per game, 151 goals scored in 38 games is very impressive, and hopefully we have picked up some new supporters along the way, who enjoy being entertained.
“A big well down to everyone at Tavistock AFC a record that will hopefully last a very long time. Ken Ord my assistant, absolute legend, Pete Bruce, S&C Trainer, and to all the players, Lowey, Shaun, Brydie, Eric, Derek and Chris.

“We now look forward to the League Cup Final against a very good Falmouth side at Wadebridge.”
