Brixham Villa 0 – 0 TCFC Ladies
This week Tavistock were away to Brixham villa, knowing forwell it wouldn’t be an easy game.
The game started evenly but with Tavistock soon the first team to have a shot at goal. Tavistock continued working hard despite the bad pitch conditions.
Tavistock’s defence were kept on their toes with the Brixham attackers trying to break through, but remained unsuccessful due to the great work from Carleigh Bammens, Robyn Hammond, Chelsea Starbuck and Tania Coker.
Throughout the First Half Tavistock’s strikers Sarah Blowey and Sarah Martin kept working the Brixham defence, with Tavistock’s midfield Becky McMullin, Donna Weeks, Kirsty Jones and Donna Hone working tirelessly to get the ball into the box but it unfortunately wasn’t going Tavistock’s way.
The Second Half remained the same with Tavistock doing their best to get the three points. The fresh legs of Laura Phillip, Lauren Schuttkacker and Anja Specht worked in Tavistocks favour helping Tavistock maintain most of the possession. Brixham broke through a couple of times but was nothing for Keeper Zoe stock to worry about, who remained calm and on the ball throughout the game with her great kicks keeping Tavistock out of the dangerzone.
Both Teams became frantic towards the end, with Brixham Hitting the woodwork and TCFC missing several more opportunities. Tavistock were determined, worked hard and each team member putting in 110% to remain unbeaten and, in the end draw the game and gain an all important point.
Player of the Match Becky McMullin.
