TCFC Ladies 4 – 0 Morley Rangers
On Sunday, TCFC ladies were back in league action against Morley Rangers who they had defeated the previous week in the Devon Cup.
The Game had started slowly with neither team finding their feet. Not long into the game, Becky Gordon passed in across for Sarah Martin to stab home ay the far post.
This put a spring in Tavistock’s step and this goal was soon followed by another. This time from Becky Gordon after some wing play on the right between Donna Hone and Lauren Schuttkacker with the latter crossing in an accurate low ball for Gordon to cooly shoot home.
Another not long followed from a Robyn Hammond corner which dropped into the box and hone shot into the next to put Tavistock 3-0 ahead.
Just before half time, Hammond had a shot which was deflected by a Morley Defender which fell to Gemma Small on the left hand side of the box, who then calmly curled an amazing shot into the roof of the net to make it 4-0 at half time.
In the second half, Anja Specht made her debut and cam very close to getting her first goal.
Small almost got her second but just missed by a narrow margin.
Tavistock’s defence of Laura Phillip, Carleigh Bammens, Chelsea Starbuck and Lauren Schuttkacker had to be on their toes thwart their attackers.
Tania Coker who had gone into a strikers role worked hard to keep the ball up field and keep the pressure off the defence.
The game finished 4-0 and Tavistock remain with 100% record in the league this season.
