Ground Of The Year 2015/16
It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Tavistock AFC have been voted South West Peninsula Premier League ground of the year for the fifth time in the past six seasons we have played in that league.
This is a huge endorsement of all the great work that takes place at the ground on match days, and in preparation for match days.
Such an award reflects on many aspects of what we work hard to improve upon every season:
– the welcome our club gives to match officials
– the wonderful playing surface we offer up, painstakingly maintained by Richard Daw and Derek Pethick, with the ground maintained by the ‘Morning Crew’
– our ‘Ram the Lamb’ Eric Pinch keeping us entertained on the tannoy
– John Hutton filling bellies in the burger bar
– Yvonne Pethick emptying pockets and creating winners with a smile, whilst running the 50:50
– Henry and Julie Lawrence delighting officials with the half-time tea
– Richie of Seconds In Time offering up superb media coverage
– Craig Smith, Mel and the bar staff in the clubhouse pulling pints and laying on post match food…
..AND the respect our players, managers and supporters show their opposition and our guests.
All of this makes us the league’s favourite place to visit each season.
All in all it really does show the great effort that goes on behind the scenes that makes turning up on the day a great experience.
So we would like to thank everybody who said that they loved coming to play and spectate at Langsford Park. We will continue to do our best for you.
And we would like to thank everybody who puts all that effort in to make it happen, from the Volunteers to the Managers, Coaches and Players.
And now we look forward to next season and will soon be sharing our pre-season fixtures!
